Dr. Douglas Beech graduated from The University of Tennesse Sum Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 1984 with a BA in Linguistics. He then went to Chiropractic College and graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1984, Cum Laude.
Since then he has been in private practice and specializes in the relief of Neck and Back Pain, Posture Correction, Custom Foot Orthotics, Whiplash Injuries as well as the treatment of Chronic Disease.
Dr. Beech has always had a keen interest in meditation from India and became a teacher of Transcendental Meditation in 1974. This connection to India also exposed him to the ancient system of Indian Medicine known as Ayurveda. Dr. Beech received his inital training in Ayurvedic Medicine in 1987 through the Maharishi Ayurveda Program.
Later in 2001, he had the great fortune of meeting one of the world’s foremost authorities in Ayurvedic Medicine, Vaidya RK Mishra. At the invitation of Vaidya Mishra, Dr. Beech began his study and practice of Vaidya’s own 5000 year old family lineage of Ayurveda known as Shaka Vansya. Through this Shaka Vansya Tradition, Dr. Beech has learned the 5000 year old secrets of healing through the use of Food as Medicine, the ancient science of Herbs and the use of a forgotten technique even in today’s Ayurveda known as The Transdermal Marma System.
This knowlege has allowed Dr. Beech to become proficient in the management of many of today’s chronic diseases that don’t respond well to modern medicine.
Dr. Beech’s Ayurvedic and Chiropractic experience give him a unique ability to treat both Acute and Chronic Pain syndromes and Chronic Diseases not usually associated with Chiropractic Care.
Dr. Beech has been featured in the Washingtonian Magazine’s most notable alternative practitioners in the Washington DC area. Dr. Beech has given television and radio interviews as well as classes to the Pharmacy students at the UM school of Pharmacy.
In 2010, Dr. Beech was a featured speaker at the AAPNA – Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America conference in Miami Florida.
